Series III: General contains background information on legislation, daily office activities, constituent inquiries, as well as various groups and activities. Files consist of correspondence, speeches, reports, news releases, clippings, and photographs. The majority of the papers date from the early sixties to the late seventies. The early years of this series, 1954 to 1962, coincide with Flynt's Departmental series, which date from 1963 to 1978. The researcher will need to consult the other portion of this collection to gain a more complete understanding of the congressman's work with legislation relating to the executive departments and commissions.
